Our Philosophy
Trek Nepal was established and is run by professionals who have been involved in the trekking and travel industry for more then a decade. Trek Nepal is licensed under the Ministry of Tourism, His Majesty’s Government of Nepal. Our organisation has grown over the years and our staff are fully dedicated travel professionals who are trained to show the best that our country has to offer. We follow a social philosophy that seeks to be responsible to the society and the environment in which we work. We provide equal opportunities for employees, especially for women, to come into mainstream business and economy. Our guides have respect for the natural environment. With our solid experience and international reputation for leading the way in adventure travel, we set out on exciting but safe, independent and fully supported group adventures and expeditions.
Nepal is rugged and beautiful but also ecologically and culturally fragile. Trek Nepal is committed to responsible travel. Let us help you plan your adventure down to the smallest detail to ensure that your trip to Nepal is a once in a lifetime experience. We now invite you to experience Nepal with the team at Trek Nepal and allow us to share with you, your valued clients and your friends the many splendors of our beautiful Himalayan Kingdom and its people.
Minimal Impact
“Let the Himalayas change you do not change the Himalayas.” It is easy in a developing country like Nepal where tourism adventures are unregulated to abuse the situation. After many years working with one of Nepal’s largest outfitter we have seen the effect that tourism can have and we have developed ways to protect the nature. We carry out all of our rubbish with us, an expense that unfortunately not all the operators see as justified. Our cooking is done over adapted gas or kerosene stoves –never firewood. We urge our clients to bring worm clothes for evening, as we do not believe in campfires. We strongly believe in ‘nature based adventure.’
Contributing to the local communities.
Our company is wholly Nepalese owned and operated and the team members of the company are selected from the area we travel. We support the local industries & indigenous people. Trek Nepal has been contributing several school and orphanage centers that were effect during the conflict in Nepal. Some of the accommodation that we use along the way charity based lodges, so the money we pay goes to the orphans and disable children or for their education. Ultimately, we aim to be involved in community and environmental projects in the area we run our trips.
Our philosophy is simple: We believe in ‘Sustainable Tourism through eco-friendly practices’. Adventure travel has to be fun and safe, rewarding for the clients and the guides, contributing to local village economies (as well as ours) and have minimal impact on the environment.
We Care for porters & staff:
We ensure that all porters/support team and all other staff serving/traveling with you are provided with adequate clothing and equipment. We provide insurance and emergency helicopter evacuation for our staff if needed. Our staffs are young, energetic, trustworthy; professional to their jobs. You can meet them in person before your trip departure in Kathmandu… most of them can be tagged through facebook as well. We run the trek according to the guidelines of the International Porter Protection group (IPPG - www.ippg.net).
